1. Information we collect
- Account info (e.g., email) when you create or use an ASECOND account
- Subscription status (plan, renewal, cancellation state) associated with your account and our payment provider
- Basic security and reliability logs (e.g., IP address and User-Agent) that may be recorded when you use ASECOND web or API services
2. Chrome extension data handling
- YouTube captions/transcripts for the video you are watching are processed in the browser so ASECOND can run keyword search and jump to matching timestamps. We access YouTube page/caption data only for that purpose.
- Ordinary search keywords and full search result lists from caption search are not stored on ASECOND servers.
- Premium Bookmarks: if you use Bookmarks, ASECOND may store metadata needed to reopen a saved moment (for example video ID and title, keyword, timestamp, and selected caption-related metadata) on ASECOND servers.
- Premium Recent Videos: if you use Recent Videos, ASECOND may store recent-video metadata on ASECOND servers and keep up to three items.
- Free daily search count is stored locally in the browser (not used as a server-side search log of your keywords).
- Authentication tokens: the Access Token is stored in browser session storage; the Refresh Token is stored in browser local storage. The extension does not collect your password; sign-in uses ASECOND’s auth flow.
3. Information we do NOT collect / do not sell
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use personal information for advertising or credit scoring.
- We do not store payment card data. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record / payment provider.
4. How we use information
- Provide and improve the service (including caption search and plan features)
- Enable paid plan access and enforce plan limits
- Prevent abuse, debug errors, and ensure security
5. Sharing
We share information only with service providers needed to operate the service (for example hosting, and Lemon Squeezy for payments) and when required by law.
6. Data retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
